We send samples of our bands to an independent lab.
Why this page exists
zamani started as a way to put heritage on the wrist: patterns, colours and motifs that mean something to the people who wear them. From the beginning, we treated the things you touch every day as worth doing properly.
That meant choosing materials we could stand behind, working with manufacturers who could show their work, and sending samples to an independent laboratory to verify what we say we make.
Not because regulation required it. Because heritage means responsibility.

How they were tested
In June 2026 QIMA, an independent lab in Shanghai, tested samples of our bands against EU REACH Annex XVII, California Proposition 65 and ASTM F2999. They passed.
Those standards set limits for what can touch your skin, including lead, cadmium, nickel, mercury, phthalates and formaldehyde.

EU REACH Annex XVII
European Union restriction on substances of concern. Items 23, 27, 43, 50, 51, 63 and 72 apply to accessories that touch the skin.
California Proposition 65
United States exposure standard listing chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive harm. Applies to anything sold in California.
ASTM F2999-19
American Society for Testing and Materials specification for adult jewelry, covering lead, cadmium, nickel and prolonged-skin-contact metals.
We do not own the lab and we do not influence the results.

Care
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. No harsh cleaners.
Light designs, especially mostly white ones, can fade or discolour with long wear.
